How To Get The Best Look From Covergirl Eyeshadow Products

Often times it is the eyes that are the first thing that another person is attracted to. While it is true that many times a person's natural eye color is beautiful, the proper application of covergirl eyeshadow can only enhance the natural beauty. While this is true, it is also true that not everyone knows the proper procedure to apply eyeshadow in such a way that it not only enhances. There are several techniques that can be used to create a smoky, dramatic eyes which will enhance your natural eye color. For this article, we will focus on enhancing the natural and beautiful hazel eye color.

Before we even consider the application of covergirl, we should first determine the type of eyelid shape that you have as this is crucial in determining how to apply your eyeshadow properly. Experts have determined that there are three types of eyelids: Deep set, Hooded and Prominent. A person with a deep-set eyelid is considered to have the most versatile eyelid with which to work.

With this eyelid, you can either highlight the eyelid or shade the eyelid, but be sure that you never do both at the same time. With a hooded eyelid you want to make it appear that you have a larger eyelid. To do so, apply high lighter on the eyelid, shade the crease of the eyes and spread shadow outwards to join the corners of the eyelid. Those with a prominent eyelid want to make the eyelid appear smaller. To do so, shade the eyelid and crease of the eye, applying high lighter to the area just below the brow only.

Covergirl eyeshadow has a product called Exact Eyelights, and their Majestic Hazel is designed specifically for hazel eyes. Of course, while you can purchase this as a kit, it is not necessary in order to achieve the look you want with eye-shadows that compliment your natural eye color.

To properly enhance hazel eyes and achieve a smoky eye using this quality brand of eyeshadow, you will want to follow the following instructions being aware of the type of eyelid that you have. Black eyeliner is key to defining the eye.

  • Making sure that you have a perfectly sharp eyeliner pencil, line both the top and bottom lashes as close to the lash line as possible. You can use liquid liner if you wish, but only on the top lashes, always use a pencil on the bottom.
  • Now, take a light silver or grey eyeshadow and blend from the top lash line to the brow bone. The object is to achieve a sheer color.
  • Brush a mid-tone grey from the lash line to just above the eye crease and blend upwards.
  • Now, avoiding the crease of the eye, apply a dark grey eyeshadow over the eyelids only. Be sure to blend any obvious shadow lines.
  • Finally, using the tip of the eyeshadow applicator or brushes, use the dark grey eyeshadow to create a soft line along the lower lashes.

Five easy steps, that when followed correctly in sequence will result in beautifully smoky eyes. Using any of covergirl eyeshadow designs kit made specifically for hazel eyes can be substituted for the greys mentioned in the steps above for a truly customized look.

Applying eyeshadow correctly is very important. The eyes are the natural focal point of the face so you have to be so careful. If your eyeshadow is messy, your whole look is messy

I never would have thought of using the tip of an eyeshadow brush to put eyeshadow on as eyeliner. It's a creative way to use a traditional beauty product. I think I'll have to try it.

Covergirl has so many different products for so many different looks. I love eyeshadow and I never buy anything but Covergirl. I've learned my lesson in using cheap cosmetics and I don't intend to do it again.

I wish someone had told me years ago not to use liquid eyeliner under my eyes. I ended up with an awful smudgy mess that was nothing like the dark polished look I was going for.
